Michael Parker was born and raised in Westerly, Rhode Island, Michael Parker has been playing saxophone for over 30 years. He received a B.A. in Music Performance from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Mike worked as a free-lance musician in Pittsburgh until 1998 and then in New England, perfoming with many great artists such as Herbie Hancock, Mike Stern, Gary Burton, Dave Liebman, and Louie Bellson, as well as in many rock, funk, and soul bands.

He currently lives  in Royalton, Vermont as full time musician, teaching and running his bands Soulfix and the Michael Parker Jazz Trio. Michael considers himself very blessed to be able to do what he loves for a living, and is thankful for those who enable him to do so.

Students with financial need can apply for scholarship for partial tuition for lessons or classes.  The process is confidential.
