This is a meditation sitting group, in which one can learn mindfulness meditation techniques derived from the vipassana tradition. Open to anyone regardless of experience. Meditation can help reduce stress and improve concentration, health, and self awareness. The format is a few minutes of instruction, a quiet sitting period, then a talk/discussion/Q&A. Teachings are offered under the Buddhist concept of Dana, or voluntary generosity. Contributions can be made to the teacher, of which a percentage will be contributed to Seven Stars for the use of their space.
Students with financial need can apply for scholarship for partial tuition for lessons or classes. The process is confidential.
