ONLINE All-Comers Virtually Slow Jam, 2nd Thursdays 6:30-8PM
Next ones: 4/8, 5/13, 6/10 email for the Zoom link: resonance.vermont@gmail.com
The All-Comers Jam is a free, all-ages-and-levels-welcome, New England contra/square dance repertoire music session in a democratic, sit-in style. We go around the circle in Zoom to allow each person to start a tune/small set or pass on their turn and all folks are welcome to play and work on picking up each tune by ear or sheet music. 6:30-8 PM is a Slow Jam which Emerson Gale or an occasional guest teacher facilitates to help folks learn new music by ear.
People bring fiddles, mandolins, cellos, guitars, ukuleles, banjos, flutes, accordions, harmonicas, recorders, concertinas, voice, and percussion. The tunes include the genres of Scottish, French Canadian, Irish, Cape Breton, Scandinavian, and Americana/Old Timey music. Folks can stop in for as little or as long as they like and dancers/listeners are very welcome as well. Everyone except the facilitator is muted during tunes so it is a safe space to explore your instruments.
The Zoom invitation will be sent to folks that RSVP as "yes" or "maybe" to: resonance.vermont@gmail.com
Free and donations go to support the facilitation of this event ($10-15 recommended)
