All-Comers Slow Jam, JULY 24th noon-1:30PM
email for more details: resonance.vermont@gmail.com
This is a "slow jam" for learning traditional dance music at a gentle pace which Emerson Gale or an occasional guest teacher facilitates to help folks learn new music by ear. Usually tunes are played 3 times at a very slow pace and then a few more time slightly faster. This is a safe space to try things out and not worry about wrong notes.
People bring fiddles, mandolins, cellos, guitars, ukuleles, banjos, flutes, accordions, harmonicas, recorders, concertinas, voice, and percussion. The tunes include the genres of Scottish, French Canadian, Irish, Cape Breton, Scandinavian, and Americana/Old Timey music. Folks can stop in for as little or as long as they like and dancers/listeners are very welcome as well. Everyone except the facilitator is muted during tunes so it is a safe space to explore your instruments.
COVID: Proof of vaccination and masks required to be extra safe still, thank you!
Sliding scale ($10-20 recommended)
