In anticipation of our very first "Star Radio Hour" Show & Swing Dance Party on April 1st, Seven Stars Arts Center is offering an evening of swing dance instruction with Gina Sonne.
We hope too that folks will be interested in continuing with a monthly swing dance class!
Sliding scale $10-$15 per person. You do not need to bring a partner!
Pre-registration is not required.
Gina will start the evening talking about what the Lindy Hop is, she’ll show some YouTube videos so folks can get a flavor for the dance form and its history.
The lesson will begin at seven for an hour and then have at least a half an hour practice time.
Gina is offering her time in support of Seven Stars Arts Center, all fees collected will go toward holding ongoing swing dance classes. “Classes with a short lesson and lots of time to practice with individual attention to technique!”
Gina Sonne has been teaching social waltz for 12 years in Thetford and Norwich. Her life-long love of dance grew with a major in dance from Adelphi University and study at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. The discovery of Social Waltz and Lindy Hop and Blues at the Dance Flurry continue to inspire her to teach these American dance genres to our local community. She believes in the power of dance to bring joy and strengthen community spirit. Her hope is to offer a regular Waltz/Swing social dance to build a vibrant social dance community.
