Jen learned how to play pan in 2006, when she attended a summer course as a public school music teacher. Pan is very accessible, and Jen instantly recognized its potential as an effective and wonderful means to build community through music-making. In addition to the Panhandlers, Jen directs Steelin the Spotlight and Pandemonium, both in the Rutland area. Through her business, Calypso Connections, Jen leads steel drum workshops for corporate team building and wellness, and also offers steel drum residencies in schools around Vermont.
