Play-In for Ukraine
& Community Survey

Join us as we create a “Play-In” of the music of Ukraine and fill out our community survey!

March 4th – May 1st, 2022

In solidarity with the musicians of Ukraine, we invite you to an unusual opportunity to both listen to and play Ukraine music together while being apart. In celebrating the deep traditions of Ukraine’s historical musical roots, we are looking for musicians to send us your rendition of a classical or folk piece.

By ‘Play-in’ we mean that you may add your piece to our collection by sending a pre-recorded performance of your choice of a Ukrainian composer. You may play it solo or with others. This is an ongoing event for the month of March, whereby you can join in or just listen. Your addition will become part of our campaign to raise awareness of the scope of Ukrainian musical history, and in support of the musicians who live there under duress.

This project is not a fundraiser, but please consider donating money to your choice of charity that is sending aid to Ukraine.

To be a part of the ‘Play-In’ :

1. Listen to a song of your choice, and return to our site to listen to our collection as it grows

and

2. In keeping with our efforts to relate the essential nature of music to our communities, please fill out our survey for further ideas on how we can serve you: SEVEN STARS COMMUNITY SURVEY

At the end of May, there will be a drawing of all survey respondents for free tickets to an upcoming performance at the SSAC!

and/or

3. Send us your own performance of any Ukraine music, leaving your own mark on this tribute. If you are inspired to play a song, we would love to add your performance here: you may send us your own rendition of a Ukrainian piece. We will post it to the collection.
Please email us your name and the instrument, and the name of the piece you are playing along with a link to it:   [email protected]
